Jonathan Goforth—filled with the Spirit

Jonathan Goforth was a missionary to China in the late 1800’s early 1900’s.  In Wesley Deuwel’s Heroes of a Holy Life, Deuwel records some of the words by Dr John Inkster at Goforth’s funeral.

He was a God-intoxicated man—fully surrendered and consecrated. Above all, he was humble. He was baptised with the Holy Ghost and with fire. He was filled with the Spirit because he was emptied of self—therefore he had power which prevailed with God and man.

Heroes of a Holy Life, 64.

What a legacy!—All the best of the Journey!
